Our story

Handicrafts X Store is a craft shop in Skopje, Macedonia, which was founded by one person, Boškova Katerina.
The main goal is to preserve the Macedonian tradition of making jewelry and objects from silver wire, as well as continuing it, encouraging young people about the importance of handicrafts, as well as a motive to make their own products.
Of particular importance is the protection of the environment through the reuse of waste materials, in a usable piece of jewelry and the like.

Beginnings

With the beginning of 2017, I decided that I no longer need to work for the company I have worked for for the past 11 years. I have been in the economy sector since 1996, when I was 18 years old. Since the new year should be entered with new beginnings, I became interested and enrolled in the Chamber of the City of Skopje, to learn one of the old crafts – filigree. My group consisted of 3 members, and the teaching started on 04/06/2017, it lasted until 11/06/2017, when we had our final exam before a three-member committee. At first I wasn’t quite sure that I would be able to learn something, but with a lot of effort and attention in the end I too knew how to make a finished product in the Filigree technique.

So I decided that what I learned, I should pass it on to my children. In order for the tradition not to stop, during the pandemic I also took the main step towards realizing my goals and ideas, so in July 2020, I opened my handmade shop X Store, in TC Avtokomanda, Skopje.

Mission

The mission of the craftswoman Handicrafts X Store Katerina Nikolce Boshkova is to spread the idea of mass use of handiwork, and less use of mass production. Each handmade product contains the soul, beautiful thought and positive energy of the craftsman. Handmade products cannot be repeated, thus each product is unique.
